Where the heck am I?

The days have been whirling by quicker that I can keep track of. I have missed numerous appointments, forgotten a plethora of details, and disappointed many.

It certainly hasn't been intentional. It isn't as if I have been doing nothing. But really if I had to describe what I have been doing, I am not sure I could. It is all jumbled together ... the good, the bad, the fun, the boring, the laughter and the tears.

I have often said that I am waiting in heavy anticipation for life to get normal. The longer that I live this life of mine, the more I realize this IS normal. Chaos, uncertainty, competing interests and desires ... THIS IS IT!

And that's OK!

I am OK with it. But I also know that it means that I can't do everything I want to do, I can only do everything I need to do.

So - I just had to say that ... I haven't been the greatest blogger, I haven't been the best of friends, I am N.O.T. the perfect mother, wife, volunteer. (and it's OK -- I needed to say that one more time -- to convince myself, more than to convince you ....)

Alright ... I did discover a few new/cool things the last few weeks ...

Confession: I used to be a cosmetics snob. I would only buy my cosmetics in a place where they were called cosmetics .. not makeup. Now, in general I am not a snob about anything, but I have sensitive skin that gets more sensitive as I get older ... so I take great care of what goes on my skin ...

However, since I don't have a job and our savings no longer allows me to spend the big bucks on my glamour routine, I have had to relax my standards when it comes to cosmetics and hair care!

Now I am not buying up the 472 shade of eye shadow from wet n wild (although I notice on their site they call them cosmetics as well - huh!), nor will I buy mascara from N.Y.C. or the mary-kateandashley cosmetics at Walmart - they're all with in my budget (cheap) but I still have my standards ...

While I continue to buy my foundation from Clinique, M·A·C or BeneFit which ever has the free gift with purchase (hey gotta make that buck stretch as far as I can ...), I have been buying my mascara at the local Walgreens, figuring that if L'Oreal is good enough for ScarJo, it should be good enough for me ... OK, ok, I am getting on with the story ...

Last week I was at Walgreens and needed new mascara and there on the shelf was CoverGirl - LashExact Mascara - buy one get one F.R.E.E. and I thought hey, if it's good enough for Queen Latifah, it must be good enough for me -- and it WAS buy one get one F.R.E.E. - what broke gal can pass that up? I mean, really?

And so here I am a week later - and let me tell you - I am L.O.V.I.N.G. this stuff. My lashes look so lush that even Mr. Farmer has commented on them - numerous times! It doesn't get clumpy or flaky and it washes off easily! I love it!!! Love it, love it, love it! OK -- enough there.

I will be brief with my next discovery. It isn't new - just new to me and I also love it!
Mane n Tail - yep, you read it right. This stuff is great. My hair is softer, thicker and it looks shinier. I don't care if they use it on horses ... it works for me!

I suppose I have bored you enough for a day ... Hopefully I will have better, more exciting things, to talk about soon!

Frannie

I love buying make up, my skin is so sensative i can't buy things over the counter like that I have to lug my butt all the way down to the local mall and buy MAC make up ( mascara ranging from 9 dollars to 15 dollars) :|

Life has a habit of getting in the way of blogging and that sort of thing, doesn't it?

I'll have to check out that mascara. I lost my lashes with chemo and they're just not as thick as they had been before. Stinkin' chemo!

Oh yeah....I think there comes a time when we have to let go of the notion that we have to be the best at everything we set out to do. We are human. We are fallible. Period.

I am dealing with these issues too.

Sigh, I knew there was a reason I loved you, mostly because well, we really are the same person! I used mane & Tale years ago but it jacked up my hair... granted I had moved in with my Dad and he had hell water... aka a well water from hell. I was a redhead for a few years and not by choice. Anyways, I will have to try it! Oh and I am the same about make-up... I will have to try the mascara... honestly I don't see the point in buying certian things in the Clinque section... I am a whore for the stuff btw and no matter HOW poor we are I will save pennies to to my Clinque! LOL I will have to try the mascara since I am fairly picky over that and never find what I want, I actually would like to save up some money and have them died but... at $50 a pop not exactly going to happen tomorrow! LOL

leighann, the down side, I am finding, is that it almosts makes my hair too soft, so I use it (the condidtioner) every other day. But I still like it a lot.
amanda - Hi and welcome! Yea, I still have to do it for the foundation, but the mascara I can go a little less - but that said, this cover-girl stuff is still $7.49 a tube - but when it was buy one get one, it seemed too good to pass up!
Jen - I am tellin' ya, give it a try. I have very few lashed, but they are long. This makes my lashes look massive. I have had that happen before like the 1st few times I used a product and then not so much .. but I have been using this for 2 weeks and it is still good. I think it is the brush, which looks different than most. let me know if it works for you!
Trish, you rock my world. Thank you! for making me feel normal! I need that!
T - we are the same woman. Married to the same man! :)
I used to be whore to Clinque, but I have REALLY had to stop that .. we just can't swing it. Dang!

Awwww don't sweat it, sweets. Everyone gets busy. I always buy eye makeup from Target. It works great. I am a snob for lipstick though. The expensive brands are just so much better.

Hi Frannie,

I'm trying to get back on track and visit my fav bloggers regularly again.

Don't worry about where your time goes. You are doing one of the most valuable jobs in the world: raising human beings. It ain't easy but its worthy and valuable.

As for make up (heheheh) I like to buy them at my local Shoppers Drug Mart (a Cdn drug store chain). Since the beginning of time I've used Maybelline Great Lash mascara. Its cheap but always wins "the best" awards. "Main & Tail" I'll have to check out. I've heard Jennifer Aniston uses it but who knows if thats true. But I have long hair so anything could help.

huggles to you!

Pru - I am with you on the lipstick. I love my Clinique! I buy the cheap stuff too, but when I really want a good pout only Clinique will do - at the moment.
Swishy - I wonder what gives .. I didn't know it was broken!
Ffleur - I have been known to cross the border to shop at Shoppers Drug Mart - which I love.
I know raisin' these young ones is valuable ... but I'll be darned if it doesn't take it all out of me some days!!! :) (ok, most days!)
