Snow again

no school.
9th day kids have missed this year.

May as well go with year round school.

My wife is a teacher. People complain to her about the missed days like it's her fault that it snowed. Last night she came up with the solution. Have vacation in the winter and school in the summer. No more missed days. Think about it. Summer vacation was made so kids could help out on the farm. not too many need this any more, so why not switch? Is there a down side?

Personally I am a fan of the "year around" concept but what do I know? LOL You actually end up with more time off when you need it! Anyways... yeah loving this crappy weather we are getting. Did you order it? Because we are going to have to talk, I am so sick of my house, the walls and everything I own I am ready to go off the deep end. I am seriously looking at my couches (which we just bought about a year ago) thinking, "we need an upgrade, maybe if we put in...." Serious the interior designer in me is in full effect right now, I am so annoying that today when the hubby left the house he left me! :( I don't know all I do know is I really want to beat up someone right now.

9 days? Yikes. That would drive me to the vodka. Keep your chin up, Fran. Get a funny book and let Calgon take you away!

God, I would love year round school!!! And I'd be a bit frustrated right about now, too.

I actually like the days my kids are out of school. No school lunches to pack, no getting kids to school on time, the only downside is that they are here all day.

I didn't have school yesterday, but not because of snow. We don't get much snow down here in Texas. The roads were pretty icy. Any excuse for a free day is fine with me.

Drew, welcome back stranger.
Personally, I don't see a down side - but I am sure others will, they always do.
T - I have friends whose children do this and they love it. It makes so much sense to me...but hey look at how educated I am - what do I know?
Beth - they went back today. I am sooo glad.
Kim - yep, mine too and then the snow again. They want to stay in school now because they know that the summer just keeps getting shorter.
Pru - right you are .. and I am going to be writing (shortly) about the my calgon experience ...
Kari - we are in the same spot baby - except I am not heading off to vacation any time soon :O)
Iris - yea, I don't mind the lack of rush in the morning .. it's just how looonngg the day draws out!
Thinker - welcome. Glad you stopped.
